All modern liposuction starts the same way: the area is filled with a fluid containing local anaesthetic and a medicine that reduces bleeding (the tumescent technique). The techniques differ in how the fat is loosened before it is removed.
About laser-assisted liposuction: the laser's heat softens the fat so it can be removed more easily and can reduce bruising. Some studies suggest the heat may also help the skin settle a little better, but laser liposuction does not remove loose skin. Because it uses heat, it needs careful technique to avoid burns to the skin or tissue underneath.

Which technique is best? No single technique is best for everyone. The result depends far more on the surgeon's planning and skill than on the device. Your surgeon may use more than one technique in the same operation, choosing what suits each area.
The amount of fat that can safely be removed in one operation is limited. Removing a very large volume, or treating many areas at once, increases the risk of complications such as fluid imbalance and blood clots.
That's why your surgeon plans the areas and the amount for you within safe limits. If you'd like several large areas treated, we may recommend doing it in two stages, rather than promising everything in one operation.
Flying home safely: you start walking on the day of surgery. Wear compression stockings on the flight, drink water and walk around the cabin regularly.
Not included: flights, travel insurance, personal expenses.
The compression garment is usually worn for about six weeks.

The fat cells that are removed don't come back. But the fat cells that remain can still grow if you gain weight, in the treated areas and elsewhere. A stable weight and an active lifestyle help you keep your result.
How much weight will I lose?
Very little on the scales. Liposuction changes your shape, not your weight. Only a limited amount of fat is removed, so the change shows more in your shape and clothing size than on the scales.
Will there be scars?
The incisions are a few millimetres long and usually fade to small marks that are hard to see.
How many areas can be treated at once?
It depends on the size of the areas and your health. Your surgeon will plan what can be safely done in one operation.
Do VASER or laser liposuction tighten the skin?
They may help the skin settle a little better, but neither removes loose skin. If your skin is loose, your surgeon will tell you honestly.
When can I go back to the gym?
Light exercise after about two weeks; full training after four to six weeks, as advised by your surgeon.
Can someone come with me?
Yes, and we recommend it. Your companion can stay with you at the hotel.
