An arm lift (brachioplasty) removes loose skin, and some fat, from the underside of the upper arms. It's for skin that hangs when you lift your arms and hasn't responded to exercise, often after major weight loss or as the skin loses elasticity with age.

This is the part of an arm lift that matters most. A full arm lift leaves a scar from the armpit towards the elbow. It is usually placed on the inner side of the arm, where it is hidden when your arms are by your side, but it can be seen when you raise your arms or wear sleeveless tops.
The scar is red and raised at first and fades and flattens over 12 to 18 months. How well it heals varies from person to person. Many people who choose an arm lift find a scar easier to live with than loose skin, but it's a decision only you can make.

It is hidden when your arms are by your side, but visible when you raise them or wear sleeveless tops. It fades over 12 to 18 months.
Can I avoid a scar with liposuction alone?
Only if your skin is firm. If the skin is loose, liposuction alone usually won't give the result you want.
When can I lift my arms or exercise?
Gentle movement from the first days. Lifting your arms above your head and exercise usually wait for four to six weeks.
When can I go back to work?
