General dental treatments include essential procedures that maintain oral hygiene, treat dental decay, manage infections, and preserve natural teeth. These treatments form the foundation of long-term dental health.
At Medicape Health, all treatments are performed with patient comfort, safety, and long-term oral health in mind.
Veneers, crowns and implants last only as long as the tissue they sit on. Every plan at Medicape Health therefore starts with a full assessment: decay, leaking fillings, inflamed root canals and gum disease are dealt with first. For patients travelling in for cosmetic work we check this on the X-rays sent in advance, so the trip can be planned realistically and nothing surfaces unexpectedly in the chair.
Bleeding when you brush is not a cosmetic issue; it is usually the first sign of inflammation. Left alone, bone is lost, teeth loosen and the necks of the teeth become exposed. Treatment is staged: professional cleaning of the gum pockets, polishing and a review of home care, and for advanced cases periodontal therapy. Where the gum has receded sharply on individual teeth, it can be rebuilt with a gum graft — this protects the root and restores an even gum line, which matters before any smile design.
When the nerve of a tooth is inflamed, root canal treatment is the way to keep the tooth rather than replace it. The canal is cleaned, disinfected and sealed; a root-treated tooth is often stabilised afterwards with a crown, because it is more brittle than a healthy one. For defects in the visible zone we use tooth-coloured composite fillings, built up in layers and matched to the shade of the neighbouring tooth.
Flattened chewing surfaces, morning jaw pain and hairline cracks in ceramic work all point to bruxism. Two approaches complement each other: a custom night guard, and — where the chewing muscle is strongly developed — relaxing the masseter muscle. The latter reduces load on the teeth and the jaw joint while also slimming the jawline. For patients with new veneers or crowns this is not cosmetic; it protects the restoration.
